Well, this class is making me face my demons and connecting to the world in every facet. I’m excited for this semester and can’t wait to really dive into the social media world. I’m a communication design senior at Texas State University and I love everything I do for that. I’m not really good about talking about myself on the computer so I’m sorry that this is short and sweet, but I promise over time you all will get to know me more. We are all in this together and feedback and comments are always welcomed! I haven’t decided what specifically this blog is going to be about, but it shouldn’t take me long to figure out what to do.
As for the video we watched in class, I thought is was extremely informational!! Everyone knows what the internet is, but very few people know WHAT makes the internet. I had no idea so much went into creating the one thing that rules our world. I still don’t truly understand how it all works together, but I think that’s simply because I don’t speak extreme computer language. I was surprised to hear that AT&T and IBM turned the project away when it was initially started. That’s one of those opportunities you only get once in your life. I will add more comments about the video later, but those were my main thoughts after watching it. There was a ton of information to retain and well let’s face it an ADHD kid is not the best one at remembering the little things. Overall I thought the movie was very beneficial for understanding the internet.
